World Autism Awareness Day

2 Apr

I welcome all the hard work of the Wrights, who are currently on the Today Show, and the awareness they have brought to the field.

Let’s hope, that with the awareness, we will now have a broadening of the dialogue. That access to the major media does not mean that we will have only one approach being touted as the “right” therapy. That some of the money put toward medical research will also be spent on the non-biological causes of Autism, and the relationship-based treatment of a disorder that is not a disorder of memory, but is a disorder of relating and communicating. Let’s look forward to the day when we will not have to have a world Autism awareness day.
